Gruppo Bancario Credito Valtellinese Selects Thunderhead to Support Communication Requirements of Its Branch Network

One of Italy’s fastest-growing banks will improve customer communications, enhance marketing activities and simplify the integration of new acquisitions using Thunderhead NOW

Thunderhead, recognized innovators in document automation and multi-channel communications solutions, today announced that Gruppo Bancario Credito Valtelinese has selected the Thunderhead NOW platform to support the customer communication requirements of its branch network.

Established in 1908, Credito Valtellinese is one of Italy’s fastest-growing banking groups and provides a full range of services to individuals and businesses.  It has more than 500 branches and recently undertook a major project to implement a new front office based application for all of its bank tellers across its branch network.  Using Thunderhead NOW, the bank will be able to quickly create and manage more customer-friendly personalized documents and emails that will be generated by branch cashiers using the new application.

“We evaluated several solutions and Thunderhead was the only one that fully met our needs, which included ease of integration with our Microsoft .NET-based applications and the ability to change and manage document content without the need for programming,” said Enrico Mazzoletti, Director of IT Architecture.

Typically, on a year-by-year basis, the banking group mails approximately 50 million pages and 10 million envelopes.  In the longer term, the company plans to use Thunderhead NOW to improve and manage the quality of its batch-produced customer communications with personalized content and better visual design as well as more tailored marketing messages.  The solution will also play a key role in supporting the customer communication requirements of new acquisitions by the group.  Thunderhead NOW will be offered as an outsourced document-generation service to partner banks that are supported by Gruppo Credito Valtellinese through Bankadati Sistemi informatici S.p.A, the IT business owned by the group.

“In recent years, we have integrated new acquisitions as well as provided outsourced IT services to our partner banks.  This trend is set to continue and Thunderhead NOW will make integration much easier by enabling us to quickly and easily produce and manage documentation, contracts and correspondence for the customers of our seven existing banks and four specialized financial businesses, as well as newly acquired banks in the future,” commented Mauro Selvetti, CIO Bankadati.
