Thunderhead Named to Software Magazine 26th Annual Software 500
Thunderhead achieves broad recognition as one of the world’s fastest-growing technology companies
Irvine, California, USA - November 3, 2008
Thunderhead, the leading provider of customer communication and document automation software, today announced its inclusion on Software Magazine’s Software 500 ranking of the world’s largest software and service providers. Included among the top 10 fastest-growing companies with annual revenue between $10 million and $30 million, Thunderhead was ranked 323, moving up 42 places from last year’s placement.
The Software 500 is a revenue-based ranking of global suppliers targeting medium to large enterprises, their IT professionals, software developers and business managers involved in software and services purchasing. The ranking is based on total worldwide software and services revenue for 2007. This includes revenues from software licenses, maintenance and support, training and software-related services and consulting. Suppliers are not ranked on their total corporate revenue, since many have other lines of business, such as hardware. The financial information was gathered by a survey prepared by King Content Company.
Thunderhead’s inclusion in the Software 500 marks the latest in a series of industry awards recognizing the company’s innovative technology and rapid worldwide growth. In September, Thunderhead was named to the annual Inc. 5000 listing of the fastest-growing, private companies in the United States as compiled by Inc. Magazine. Ranked number 584 on the Inc. 5000 listing, Thunderhead experienced three-year sales growth of more than 550 percent in the US market. The company was also ranked number 35 among the 100 fastest-growing software companies.
Rounding out recent awards, the Sunday Times named Thunderhead to its Tech Track 100 list, which ranks the UK’s fastest-growing, privately-held technology companies. Thunderhead was listed this year at number 29, with 87.1 percent worldwide sales growth for 2007.
Notably, Thunderhead’s growth is 100 percent organic and is due to continued, strong demand for its cross-industry software platform, Thunderhead NOW.
“We are delighted to again be recognized as one of the fastest-growing software companies in the world,” said Glen Manchester, CEO of Thunderhead. “This broad recognition from Software Magazine, Inc. and the Sunday Times is testament to the continued hard work of our team and to our innovative technology.”
“In today’s tough economic conditions, it is imperative that technology investments deliver rapid return on investment,” Manchester continued. “Thunderhead NOW produces remarkable cost savings and efficiency gains, while allowing organizations to better engage with their customers. This powerful combination of benefits will ensure that we continue to delight our customers, who are the real source of our explosive growth.”
“The 2008 Software 500 results show that revenue growth in the software and services industry was healthy, with total Software 500 revenue of $451.8 billion worldwide for 2007 representing 14.7 percent growth from the previous year,” says John P. Desmond, editor of Software Magazine and Softwaremag.com. “We have added over 100 new companies to the list this year. We’re seeing strong growth from more companies based outside the US.”
