Thunderhead awarded Federal seal of approval as part of continued commitment to quality and security standards
Company recognized as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliant, mitigating risks around the handling of medical and insurance information and extending its commitment to cloud customers.
The accreditation officially recognizes that Thunderhead’s procedures and operations adhere to the rigorous standards identified in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), demonstrating the organization’s commitment to its SaaS-based customers.
Enacted in 1996, HIPAA serves as a healthcare vertical privacy regulation and addresses the privacy and security of health data, and protects health insurance coverage for workers and their families.
Ian Pitt, CIO, Thunderhead said: “At Thunderhead we like to create an environment of trust for our customers, where their best interests are safe-guarded through compliance and best practise.
“Achieving HIPAA compliance is another step on our continued journey towards ensuring that the customer sits at the heart of what we do as a business and, although we have always operated in line with these regulations, we are delighted to have had this verified and recorded.”
